Hobart opt to bowl first v Heat in BBL

The Hobart Hurricanes have won the toss and elected to bowl in their Big Bash League clash with the misfiring Brisbane Heat at Bellerive Oval.

Hobart have won three matches in a row and sit third on the ladder, with opener Ben McDermott smashing centuries in back-to-back matches.

The Heat meanwhile have just the two victories from seven games this season and are fifth.

They’ve tinkered with their batting order in recent games, with wicketkeeper and skipper Jimmy Peirson elevated to the top of the order.

Hurricanes: Matthew Wade (c), Ben McDermott, D’Arcy Short, Harry Brook, Peter Handscomb, Tim David, Jordan Thompson, Nathan Ellis, Tom Rogers, Riley Meredith, Sandeep Lamichhane.

Heat: Chris Lynn, Jimmy Peirson (c), Ben Duckett, Sam Heazlett, Max Bryant, Xavier Bartlett, James Bazley, Mark Steketee, Matt Kuhnemann , Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Liam Guthrie.
