Vic has 28,128 COVID-19 cases, 13 deaths

Victoria has posted 28,128 new COVID-19 infections and another 13 deaths, as hospitalisations with the virus continue to climb.

The new infections include 10,337 reported from rapid antigen tests and 17,791 from PCR tests, the state health department said on Sunday.

There are a record 1114 patients in hospital with COVID-19, 60 more than the 1054 reported on Saturday.

The number of people in ICU has grown by seven to 122 with 35 on ventilators, five more than the previous day.

The state is managing 237,559 active cases.

About 23 per cent of Victorians aged over 18 have received their booster vaccine.

The latest figures come after the state government’s rent relief program was extended for businesses struggling amid the latest wave.

Small Business Minister Jaala Pulford on Saturday announced an extension of the relief scheme to March 15 for commercial tenants and landlords experiencing hardship.

Businesses with an annual turnover of $10 million or less that have suffered a decline in turnover of at least 30 per cent due to coronavirus will be eligible for support.
