Nearly two decades since taking their last curtain call, Powderfinger are returning.

Powderfinger has added even more concerts to its 2027 reunion tour, having already sold out 26 dates around Australia.

Canberra, Hobart and Perth have been added to the line-up, with fans voicing their gratitude online.

“Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart and my limited bank balance, you now coming to Tassie is the best,” said one fan.

The band will play two concerts at Hobart’s Cornelian Bay Oval and another two at Perth’s Sandalford Estate in November, and then head to Canberra to play Stage 88 in December.

Extra dates in Melbourne and Powderfinger’s hometown of Brisbane have also been added.

“Your wish is our command, especially for you guys in Hobart & Canberra!! … We want to celebrate this moment with as many of you as possible!!” Powderfinger said in a message to fans on Friday.

The reunion tour was announced earlier in October, with extra dates added when concerts quickly sold out.

A long list of Australian bands has been announced as support acts across the latest list of concerts, including Ocean Alley, Violent Soho, The Living End, Ball Park Music, John Butler Trio, Something For Kate, and Thelma Plum.

There’s also DMA’S, You Am I, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, The Preatures, The Belair Lip Bombs, Luca Brasi, Full Flower Moon Band, South Summit, Carla Geneve, Banjo Lucia, and Special Features.

Support acts for concerts that have already sold out are still being finalised, the band said in a message to fans.

Any fans who manage to get tickets for a concert in their hometown will be able to request a refund if they have already bought tickets for other cities, the band said.

“Thank you for keeping the faith and for being so patient. We can’t wait to see you out there,” Powderfinger said in a message to fans on Friday morning.

It looks like additional dates for Adelaide are also likely, as the band also asked fans in Adelaide to “hang in there”, promising they had not been forgotten.

Powderfinger is one of Australia’s most successful rock bands, with five albums topping the ARIA Charts and 18 ARIA awards over 21 years of recording and touring.

The reunion tour will mark 17 years since their Sunsets farewell concerts.
