Aussie Lenihan to take charge at Huddersfield Giants

Struggling Huddersfield have appointed long-term former Gold Coast assistant coach Jim Lenihan to steer the side during troubled times.
The Giants are bottom of the Super League with just two wins from 10 matches which led to the sacking of Luke Robinson.
The 52-year-old Australian, who looked after the Titans in an interim capacity following the departure of Justin Holbrook in 2022, has signed a “long-term contract” with the Giants.
Robinson was dismissed by the West Yorkshire club on March 22 after starting the season with five successive defeats. He was temporarily replaced by interim head coach Liam Finn.

Lenihan made 21 appearances as a player for Huddersfield during the 1999 season and also played in the NRL with St George Illawarra.
A club statement read: “Huddersfield Giants are delighted to announce the appointment of Jim Lenihan as the club’s new head coach on a long-term contract.”
Lenihan, who was the Titans’ assistant coach from 2020-2025, had initially been appointed head coach of Queensland Cup side Brisbane Tigers for 2026 in September.
