‘Happy, fulfilled, hungry’: Drua lure home Naisarani

Isi Naisarani will add Wallabies grunt to the Fijian Drua backrow after reinvigorating his career in Sydney club rugby and being lured home for a Super Rugby Pacific encore.
The Fijian-born 11-Test Wallaby and core member of the Wallabies’ 2019 World Cup team caught the eye of new coach Brad Mooar while carving up Shute Shield with Randwick.
Mooar is confident the 31-year-old, who played for the Western Force, ACT Brumbies and Melbourne Rebels before a stint in Japan, has plenty more to give.
“It’s a very exciting signing for us,” the coach said.
“A dynamic and powerful and skilful player, he’ll add a huge amount in attack and defence.
“Watching his games in Shute Shield and speaking with Isi, it is clear he’s in a great space and loving his rugby and life.
“Isi is happy, fulfilled and hungry to keep getting better and to give to the Drua. That is a powerful combination.”
Naisarani’s recruitment follows that of experienced flyhalf Ben Volavola and Olympic sevens champion Leone Nakarawa.
