Trump says Iranian leader has asked for a ceasefire

Iran’s new leader has asked the United States for a ceasefire, US President Donald Trump says in a Truth Social post.
“We will consider when Hormuz Strait is open, free, and clear. Until then, we are blasting Iran into oblivion,” he said.
The United States will be “out of Iran pretty quickly” and could return for “spot hits” if needed, Trump told Reuters on Wednesday, hours before he was scheduled to make a prime-time address .
Trump also said he would state in the speech that he is considering withdrawing the US from the NATO military alliance.
The US president earlier said he could walk away from the war in two to three weeks once he felt confident Iran would not be able to build a nuclear weapon even if it does not agree to a ceasefire.
