Adam Doueihi’s dramatic finish to the season at Wests Tigers has come to an early end with the halfback to miss the final three rounds with a shoulder injury.

The Tigers confirmed on Tuesday that Doueihi had been battling the injury since returning in early July, after initially being hurt against Cronulla in round nine.

Doueihi is now set to undergo surgery in a bid to have him fit for the start of next season. It means he will be unavailable for Lebanon at the World Cup.

The 28-year-old’s setback comes after he sat out a match against Canberra last month after a “communication breakdown” with coach Benji Marshall.

Doueihi admitted afterwards he regretted the decision and insisted he remains committed to the Tigers into next season after being close to their best in 2026.

The Tigers have also lost Latu Fainu to a hamstring injury for Sunday’s clash against Sydney Roosters, as the joint-venture try to avoid a ninth straight defeat.

Elsewhere, young Manly half Joey Walsh’s season may be over after he played most of last Friday’s 22-0 loss to the Dolphins with a hairline fracture in his jaw.

Already battling a shortage in the middle, the Sea Eagles now face a challenge in their halves given Walsh had been replacing the injured Luke Brooks at No.6.
