Star Adelaide defender Josh Worrell is still expected to play in their AFL clash with Gold Coast despite allegedly being in a car accident that involved a pedestrian.

Worrell was reportedly left shaken up by the incident, which occurred as he made his way to training on Friday.

The 25-year-old was given permission to skip the session, but is still expected to line up against the Suns at Adelaide Oval on Saturday.

“The Adelaide Football Club can confirm one of its players was in a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian this morning,” the Crows said in a statement on Friday evening.

“The matter has been reported to South Australia Police and at this stage, the club is not in a position to provide any further comment.”

Worrell has played 70 games since making his debut in 2021, averaging a career-high 23.3 possessions per game this season.
