Daniil Medvedev has won the 23rd title of his distinguished career at the Dubai ‌Tennis Championships after his final opponent ‌Tallon Griekspoor withdrew due to an ‌injury he suffered in his last-four match.

Russian Medvedev has landed his second ‌title in ‌Dubai – the first time he’s ever won the same tournament twice — and without dropping a set.

Griekspoor said ‌after his straight-sets win over Andrey Rublev in his semi that he ‌was struggling with a hamstring injury and would have retired had he lost the second set.

“Not how I want to win a ‌final. Hoping the injury for Griekspoor is not too bad and wishing him a speedy recovery,” Medvedev wrote on Saturday after the Dutchman’s withdrawal.

The title is 30-year-old Medvedev’s second of the 2026 season after he also won in Brisbane in January.

At No. 11 in the ATP Live Rankings, Medvedev is just 45 points behind Alexander Bublik as he bids to return to the top-10 for the first time since June last year.
