Rooster hit with four-game ban over NRLW final brawl

Sydney Roosters second-rower Aliyah Nasio has been banned for four matches over the NRLW grand final brawl that overshadowed the full-time siren.
Nasio fronted the NRLW judiciary on Tuesday night, and was handed the equal-longest suspension in the competition’s history after being charged with striking.
The 19-year-old will miss Tonga’s Pacific Championship games against Cook Island and Papua New Guinea, as well as the start of next NRLW season at the Roosters.
It comes after she was accused of throwing multiple punches at Brisbane centre Julia Robinson in the brawl, which came on fulltime of the Broncos’ 22-18 win.
Nasio’s suspension is the same as the one handed down to Parramatta star Kennedy Cherrington in 2023 for a dangerous throw.
The teenager is signed with the Roosters for the next two seasons, after extending her contract with the club last month.
