Luke Keary named in Ireland’s RLWC squad

Sydney Roosters halfback Luke Keary and Super League finalists Richie Myler and James Bentley are the headline inclusions in Ireland’s 24-man Rugby League World Cup squad.
Queensland-born Keary, who qualifies for the Wolfhounds through his father, had been due to make his Ireland debut at the 2017 World Cup in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea, but missed the tournament through injury.
He joins four other NRL players – Joshua Cook (Canterbury), James Hasson (South Sydney), Jaimin Jolliffe (Gold Coast) and Henry O’Kane (Wests Tigers) – in the squad.
There are 15 potential debutants among new coach Ged Corcoran’s selections, including Harry Rushton, Huddersfield’s new signing from Canberra.
Ireland open their campaign against Jamaica at Headingley on October 16 and also play New Zealand and Lebanon in their group.
