Suns’ Lukosius cleared of serious injury

Gold Coast young gun Jack Lukosius has avoided a serious knee injury but will still miss at least the Suns’ next AFL game.
The 21-year-old limped off Metricon Stadium late in Gold Coast’s 30-point win over Carlton on Sunday.
Lukosius sent a scare through the Suns camp with star forward Ben King already ruled out for this season with an ACL injury.
But scans have cleared Lukosius of the worst and he may only miss one match.
“Jack endured an injury to his PCL but the stability of his knee hasn’t been significantly compromised,” Suns physiotherapist Lindsay Bull said.
“He won’t be available for selection this week, but we’ll reassess how is recovery tracks early next week before determining if he will be available for round six.”
Jy Farrar was subbed out of the contest against Carlton with a hamstring injury but remains in the frame to face St Kilda at Marvel Stadium on Saturday.
“Jy reported pain during the second quarter of the game, and we took every precaution with him, we’ll build him up in the second half of the week in an effort towards him being available for selection,” Bull said.
