Search under way for woman missing on Eyre Peninsula

A search is under way for a Queensland woman missing on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula.

Identified only as Julie, the 48-year-old was last seen at Streaky Bay on Sunday afternoon.

Police said she is not familiar with the area and concerns are held for her safety.

Julie was described as about 170cm tall with dark shoulder-length hair. 

She was wearing jeans, a blue striped top with a star in the middle and light-coloured boots.

Police patrols and an aircraft joined the search on Tuesday along with State Emergency Service personnel.

Officers are also seeking dashcam footage after they received reports a woman was hitchhiking in Streaky Bay between 8.30am and 10.30am on Monday.

The woman was seen near the corner of Jessie Flat Road and Jubilee Road.
