A man faces multiple charges more than two months after being shot by police during a confrontation in a suburban street.
Officers shot the 27-year-old about 7.50pm on March 21 in Logan Central, south of Brisbane, following reports of a disturbance involving a man allegedly armed with a knife.
“During the incident, officers discharged their firearms, striking the man,” police said in a statement on Sunday.
“The 27-year-old Koongal man was transported to hospital for treatment.”
The man has since been charged with one count each of wilful damage, receiving tainted property, serious assault of a police officer while pretending/is armed with a weapon, possessing dangerous drugs and going armed so as to cause fear.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Beenleigh Magistrates Court on May 27.
Police say the shooting is being investigated by the Ethical Standards Command, with oversight from the Crime and Corruption Commission.
