Rideshare driver accused of rape and serial stalking
Andrew Stafford |
A rideshare driver has been accused of raping a one-time passenger and stalking several others, as police urge more potential victims to come forward.
Police raided the man’s home, in Brisbane’s northwest, on November 17, seizing mobile phones and a laptop.
The 29-year-old is alleged to have picked up women who he later stalked across social media and at their homes between 2020 and 2025.
Police allege in mid-2025, a 27-year-old woman used a white Mercedes Benz A45 rideshare to return home.
The driver later connected with her on social media, with a short-term relationship between the pair developing shortly afterwards.

On July 20, the man is alleged to have gone to the woman’s house unannounced and sexually assaulted her.
On August 17, the man allegedly turned up at the woman’s house again and threatened her, but left due to other people being there.
Earlier, on November 1, 2024, it is alleged a 21-year-old woman used the same ride-share car to return home.
Police allege the same driver exchanged social media account details with the woman, before sending her multiple messages and threatening to attend her workplace.
The woman never met the man after the original ride share and blocked him on social media.
Investigations have led police to further allege around November 2020, a 20-year-old woman started a relationship with the same man.
Within two months he is alleged to have assaulted the woman and gone through her phone, turning up at her house if she did not answer his calls.
The man has been charged with one count each of rape, coercive control, threatening violence, misusing a telecommunications service, trespass, and three counts of stalking.
Senior Sergeant Robert Lowry said there were likely to be more victims.
“From the information that we’ve got, there probably are other women out there that have experienced this behaviour by this driver,” he told reporters on Wednesday.
“We are getting some calls coming into the office about similar instances, which we’re investigating.
“The purpose of today is to put a wider call-out to the community to see if there are other women out there who have experienced this behaviour.”
Mr Lowry said the man was 170cm tall, with a tanned complexion, a solid, muscular build, and tattoos on both arms and one leg.
He is on bail under strict conditions and will next appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on April 17.
