A 36-year-old man is in a critical condition after being shot in the neck during a confrontation with three people.

The three men allegedly got into an altercation with the 36-year-old after they arrived at a Chinchilla home, west of Brisbane, about 1.30pm on Tuesday.

The 36-year-old was shot before the three men fled in a silver ute with a white bumper, police said.

RACQ LifeFlight Rescue said the man was airlifted to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable but critical condition.
