Man charged with attempted murder after city stabbing

A 42-year-old has been charged with attempted murder after another man suffered multiple stab wounds in Brisbane’s CBD.

Police said the two men were involved in an altercation at a Mary Street address at about 10.30am on Sunday.

Both men – aged 42 and 48 – were taken to a Brisbane hospital for treatment.

Police said the 48-year-old suffered multiple stab wounds to the abdomen as well as lacerations to the leg and arms.

The 42-year-old sustained a cut to his arm.

Police said initial investigations indicated the two men were known to each other.

The 42-year-old man from the Gold Coast has been charged with attempted murder, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and grievous bodily harm.

He has been denied bail and is due to appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
