More bones found in search for remains in waterway

Police are analysing human bones found in Queensland’s far north after finding more remains at a popular tourist spot.
Forensic testing is under way and missing persons files are being examined following the discovery at Mossman Gorge near Port Douglas.
The search of the waterway began after police recovered a leg bone in the river on August 22, and divers found more bones during a search on August 28 and 29.
No more remains had been found and the search had concluded, police said on Friday.
It comes nine months after a Victorian woman went missing in the river.
The 54-year-old was last seen in distress at the gorge on January 6 after visiting the popular tourist spot with friends.
Mossman River is known to be dangerous because of strong undercurrents and is prone to rising fast without warning.
