Charge upgraded after man dies following alleged fight

A man has died in hospital after allegedly being struck and hitting his head during a fight on Queensland’s Fraser Coast.
The 43-year-old was taken to Hervey Bay Hospital following the assault at an intersection in Maryborough in the early hours of Saturday.
He was later taken to hospital in Brisbane with life-threatening injuries and died on Sunday night.
The alleged attacker, a 23-year-old man, would have a charge of grievous bodily harm upgraded to unlawful striking causing death, police said.
