Police say they found buried rifles in a raid on the home of a man since charged over a robbery.

A man has been charged with stealing a large amount of jewellery at gunpoint in Brisbane’s south.

The 20-year-old was allegedly one of two balaclava-clad men who entered a jewellery store in Calamvale Central shopping centre on May 22, brandished firearms and demanded merchandise.

The two staff members complied and were not hurt, police said.

Police said the men then fled in a car that was allegedly found at a property in the Logan suburb of Flagstone.

Police searched the property and allegedly found two rifles buried in the yard as well as gun parts and small amounts of drugs.

The 20-year-old was arrested and charged with armed robbery and weapons and drug offences, and was due to face Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
