Man shot dead by police responding to a disturbance

A man has been shot dead by police in northern Queensland, following a domestic disturbance.
Queensland Police officers were called to the suburb of Kirwan in Townsville on Friday before 5pm, following reports a man was threatening self-harm.
The officers reportedly shot the unidentified man in the chest multiple times, causing him to collapse.
CPR was performed on the man before paramedics arrived but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police were called to the same property a day prior after another incident and closed off surrounding streets as a safety precaution.
An investigation is underway.
