A primary school-aged boy is being treated for a broken leg in a Queensland hospital, after he was thrown from the animal’s back while bull-riding.
The LifeFlight rescue helicopter was called to the South Burnett region about 7pm on Saturday by the Queensland Ambulance Service, which was first on the scene.
The boy had been riding the animal when it bucked him off, then stood on his leg, breaking his femur.
The rescue helicopter airlifted the boy and his mother to Toowoomba Hospital.
A spokeswoman for Queensland Health said today the boy remains in a stable condition in hospital.
