Two inmates escape Townsville women’s jail

Police and prison officers are searching for two inmates who escaped from Townsville Correctional Centre’s women’s low security jail on Christmas Day.

Police are warning people not to approach Kristy Lisa Barnes and Pearl Elizabeth May O’Neill if they see them but to immediately call police on triple zero.

Barnes is serving one year and four months for assault occasioning actual bodily harm and O’Neill is on remand.
