Driver arrested after Sydney pursuit

A suspended driver who allegedly led a pursuit through Sydney’s outskirts in a stolen car has been charged with a raft of driving offences.

Police say the woman refused to stop when highway patrol officers attempted to intercept the stolen Honda Accord in Campbelltown about 8.20pm on Friday.

After police ended a brief pursuit, they tracked the car by helicopter and intercepted it in nearby Minto.

The 29-year-old driver failed a roadside breath test and was arrested, police say, adding she later tested positive for methamphetamine and cannabis.

The woman faces changes including two counts of police pursuit, driving while suspended and resisting arrest.

Police have also charged the woman over the stolen car along with possessing stolen property.
