Police have called for public help to find a man missing on the Flinders Highway between Townsville and Mount Isa.

Reece O’Neill, 32, from Townsville, was last seen at a hotel on Main Street in Pentland on September 14.

Police said he may be travelling from Pentland to Mount Isa and have asked people travelling in the area to look out for Mr O’Neill.

Charters Towers Police officer in charge, Senior Sergeant Tony Hosie, said Mr O’Neill has a medical condition and concerns are held for his welfare.

“We’re requesting anyone that was travelling on the Flinders Highway between the 14th and today, if they’ve had any dealings or seen anyone matching his description, please contact us.

“The highway is used on a regular basis by heavy vehicle transport, so we’re asking truck drivers to keep an eye out for this person.”
