Search finds man missing since Monday in North Burnett

A search has found an 84-year-old man who had been missing with his two dogs near Penwhaupell, in Queensland’s North Burnett region since Monday.

David John Grimes left his home to walk his two Jack Russell Terriers to an area known as Back Creek. He failed to return that evening.

Searchers bring home the man’s two dogs

A search resumed today, involving police, SES, QFES, family and friends, with support from a helicopter and Hervey Bay Water Police.

Police had held concerns for Mr Grimes, due to his age and medical conditions.

Searchers found Mr Grimes today with his two dogs by his side. He’s been taken to Bundaberg Hospital.
