Qld man charged over woman’s balcony fall

A man has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly pushed a woman off a balcony last week.

It’s alleged the man and woman, who are known to each other, were arguing at a unit in the inner Brisbane suburb of Kelvin Grove on Thursday night.

About 11.30pm, the woman was on the balcony of the Franklin St unit when the man allegedly pushed her over the railing.

The 18-year-old fell about four metres to the ground and suffered significant head injuries.

She was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

A 27-year-old Kelvin Grove man has been charged with four domestic violence offences, attempted murder, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, grievous bodily harm, and contravening a domestic violence order.

He is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Saturday.
