Man critical after Qld footpath shooting

A search is underway after an alleged daylight shooting on a footpath in Queensland’s south that left one man in a critical condition.

Emergency services were called to the scene at about 9:30am on Tuesday following a report from the public in the town of Warwick, about two hours from Brisbane.

Early investigations suggest the man was standing on the footpath when a small silver car pulled up and the alleged offender fired a single shot.

“The offender remains outstanding, we believe the parties to be known to each other and we don’t believe there’s any further threat to the Warwick community,” Acting Inspector Jamie Deacon said on Tuesday.

The injured 37-year-old was in a critical condition when airlifted to a Brisbane hospital to have surgery for an abdominal wound.
