Teen girl hurt as car hits Brisbane home

A teenage girl is in a critical condition with “significant facial injuries” after she was left for dead when a stolen car ploughed into a Brisbane home.
Police say the 17-year-old and four males were in a Lexus when it raced across an intersection and slammed into the house near the corner of Gowan Rd and Hellawell Rd, Sunnybank Hills, about 11.20pm on Monday.
The crash left the home on the verge of collapse and the others who were in the car ran away, leaving the injured woman at the scene.
She is in a critical condition at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
The four males got into a second car that was travelling with the Lexus, also believed to be stolen, and drove away.
No one was in the house at the time of the accident, police said.
Paramedics found the young woman with “significant facial injuries” before she was taken to hospital.
Police say the crashed car was stolen from Kuraby, also in southern Brisbane, on Sunday afternoon.
“Investigators urge anyone with information about the crash, knowledge about the occupants of the car or dashcam footage from the area to contact police,” they said in a statement.
