Teenager accused of Qld stabbing murder

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with murdering a 17-year-old boy who died after allegedly being stabbed early on New Year’s day.
Queensland Police say two 17-year-old boys were found to have stab wounds following a fight involving a number of people in Cairns about 1am on Saturday.
A 17-year-old Mooroobool boy died in Cairns Hospital on Saturday after being taken there in a private vehicle before police arrived at the scene of the disturbance.
A second 17-year-old Mooroobool boy went to the Cairns Hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives have charged a 14-year-old Edmonton boy with one count of murder.
He has been denied police bail to appear in the Cairns Children’s Court on January 3.
