Qld man allegedly stabbed by home intruder

A man has suffered stab wounds after struggling with an alleged home intruder on New Year’s Eve in Brisbane’s north.
Police said a woman discovered someone inside her Alderley home about 11pm on Friday and called out to a 44-year-old man.
The 44-year-old allegedly located a man in the front yard and was stabbed in the arm in the ensuing struggle.
Officers were called out to the Royal Parade residence and found a 26-year-old Sandgate man hiding in nearby bushland.
He was charged with enter dwelling with intent at night and unlawful wounding.
The man was denied watchhouse bail and remanded in custody, appearing in a Brisbane court on Saturday.
