A man has suffered stab wounds after struggling with an alleged home intruder on New Year’s Eve in Brisbane’s north.

Police said a woman discovered someone inside her Alderley home about 11pm on Friday and called out to a 44-year-old man.

The 44-year-old allegedly located a man in the front yard and was stabbed in the arm in the ensuing struggle.

Officers were called out to the Royal Parade residence and found a 26-year-old Sandgate man hiding in nearby bushland.

He was charged with enter dwelling with intent at night and unlawful wounding.
