The ACT has reported 252 new cases of COVID-19 in the latest figures, a significant increase on 189 infections the previous day.

The new cases come amongst 2980 negative tests in the same reporting period.

There are now more than 900 active cases in the territory. The ACT’s double dose vaccination rate for its 12 plus population remains at 98.5 per cent.

Queuing chaos continues across the territory with ACT policing needing to be called out to respond to a number of incidents.

Police have asked Canberrans to remain patient and courteous at testing clinics, saying call outs are taking police resources away from priorities elsewhere.

The ACT had to reopen a fourth testing centre to meet demand after three centres hit capacity early Tuesday morning and some sites had a four plus hour wait after midday.
