Alleged killer cop’s mum charged with witness influence

The mother of an officer accused of killing two people has been charged after allegedly attempting to influence a key witness in his high-profile murder trial.
Coleen Lamarre, 63, was arrested at Balmain in Sydney’s inner west on Wednesday morning and charged with perverting the course of justice.
She is set to appear in a bail court on Thursday.
Her son, Beaumont Lamarre-Condon, is expected to undergo a months-long trial from September.
He has pleaded not guilty to murdering TV presenter Jesse Baird and his flight attendant partner Luke Davies at their inner-city Sydney home in February 2024.
Lamarre-Condon briefly dated Mr Baird.
The 30-year-old became the first serving NSW police officer charged with murder in several decades.
He is accused of shooting the couple at Mr Baird’s Paddington home before their bodies were dumped at a rural property.
The then-senior constable later handed himself in and was charged.
He was eventually sacked by NSW Police after joining the force in 2019.
