Hunt for cattle thieves as Angus cows and bulls stolen

Dozens of cattle have been stolen from a property northwest of Brisbane, police say.
The alarm was raised after a recent muster failed to locate about 31 Angus cows and two bulls in a remote paddock at Burncluith, north of Chinchilla.
Police say initial investigations indicate the livestock were taken between March 8 and May 30.
The missing cattle have a distinctive brand which looks like a number eight inside a tent, police said.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
“Cattle theft is a deplorable act that has devastating effects on producers,” Rural and Stock Crime Squad’s Detective Sergeant Glenn Evans said.
“We’re asking farmers to remain vigilant, and to report anything suspicious to police as soon as possible.”
