Sea Eagles brothers moonlighting as pub trivia hosts

Ex-NSW captain Jake Trbojevic would do anything for his Manly teammates, even sacrifice a night watching State of Origin at home to host pub trivia at the local leagues club.
Days after being appointed Sea Eagles co-captain, the eldest Trbojevic has found himself thrust into yet another gig, and he can thank his younger brother Ben.
The Manly second-rower has started up a side hustle that allows businesses to book NRL players for their corporate events or functions.
“It’s called Pro2U, the idea is that they get athletes on board and they facilitate the barrier between fans and athletes,” Jake Trbojevic explained to AAP.
Manly’s Corey Waddell has also signed up to be involved, but Ben’s first event was a trivia night booked in by Manly Leagues Club for the night of Origin II.
He knew just the two guys for the hosting job.

“It’s me and Tom (Trbojevic) running trivia, watch State of Origin, Q&A at halftime,” Jake Trbojevic said.
“It’s for my brother (Ben) and his mate, so I’m really excited for them, they’re very proud. Obviously it’s only early days, but hopefully they just keep building.”
Around 130 punters have bought tickets at $80 a head, leaving the younger Trbojevic brother with a tidy reward for his business nous.
For his part, not only is Jake assuming the role of co-quizmaster, he’s been tasked with writing questions to challenge the northern beaches locals.
He’s approached the job with typical Trbojevic fervour.
“I’ve been working out the questions, it’s State of Origin (themed) so I’m passionate about it,” he said.
“A few answers are me and Tom.”
It’s just as well the Trbojevic brothers are the ones behind the microphone, with five-eighth Luke Brooks rating the duo as the strongest trivia players at Manly.
“Those boys would be,” Brooks told AAP.
“They’re good with their trivia, we’ve had a few trivia nights with the boys. Jake just loves his footy.”
After their trivia night wraps up, the Trbojevic brothers will reunite on the field against Canterbury on Saturday, when Tom returns from his hamstring injury.

It will mark Jake and Tom’s first game as club co-captains; Jake has assumed the role during Tom’s absence and was appointed full-time during the round-15 bye.
Tom and coach Kieran Foran made the call to promote the lock forward to the co-captaincy.
“You feel valued, when people say that and they want you to do that,” Jake said.
“I was extremely grateful. There was a lot of pride, the family are very proud.”
