Curnow, Oliver wowing teammates after big moves north

Young key forwards Aaron Cadman and Logan McDonald have been wowed by the early actions of gun recruits Clayton Oliver and Charlie Curnow heading into the AFL’s Opening Round.
New Sydney spearhead Curnow will line up against former club Carlton at the SCG on Thursday night, with midfielder Oliver making his GWS debut two days later against Hawthorn at Engie Stadium.
McDonald, who has already played alongside one Swans key forward superstar in Lance Franklin, said Curnow had fitted in seamlessly and he was in awe of him at training.
With Curnow and former Gold Coast Sun Malcolm Rosas joining the club and McDonald back after missing all of last season, Sydney will field a new-look forward line.

“We’ve spent a lot of time with new forwards coach Jeremy Laidler building our connection and synergy and obviously Charlie is going to draw a crowd,” McDonald, who kicked six goals across two practice matches, told AAP on Monday.
“He’s such a big presence around the footy club and on the field, so I can’t wait to share the field with him.
“Mal Rosas has been as good as anyone over then first two practice games, so I’m really excited to see what he’s going to do as well.”
Oliver’s move to GWS from Melbourne has taken on even more importance with the Giants’ other midfield bull Tom Green out for the season.
“He (Oliver) is one of a kind, the energy he brings to us, the club, is unmatched,” GWS forward Cadman said.
“On the weekend in pouring rain he was doing these one handed flick ups, he’s one of the cleanest players I’ve ever seen.
“He’s definitely going to fill that void of Tom Green.
“He looks ridiculously fit. He says he feels the best he’s felt in his career.”
Cadman declared himself available to face the Hawks after missing last week’s practice match and also expects Finn Callaghan to be back from a hip flexor injury.
