Sea Eagles boost forward stocks with Moale signing

Davvy Moale has signed with Manly as the Sea Eagles seek to bolster their understrength middle forward rotation.
The South Sydney prop will join the Sea Eagles on a three-year deal from 2027, but the club is hopeful of bringing him over early in 2026.
Souths are understood to be open to that possibility, but are likely to leave the ball in Manly’s court.
Manly’s lack of middle forward depth was exposed following a season-ending injury to Taniela Paseka early this year, with Josh Aloiai, Jazz Tevaga and Tof Sipley also departing in the off-season.
Finishing 2025 in 10th spot, the Sea Eagles are in desperate need of more muscle through the middle of the field if they’re to feature in the the top eight again.
Young prop Moale had a quiet season at injury-plagued Souths this year, but the 22-year-old has plenty of football in front of him.

Souths gave Moale permission to negotiate with Manly prior to the November 1 trade deadline, which usually prohibits players from speaking to NRL rivals until the November before their final season.
“Davvy is a power forward with a high work rate,” said Manly coach Anthony Seibold.
“For someone so young he has gained a lot of experience in a short space of time.
“I think the next few years will see Davvy develop into one of the game’s leading middles by the time he’s in his mid-20s.”
Moale has played 70 games for Souths since his NRL debut in 2021.
His 2025 campaign was cut short by a wrist injury.
