Brisbane legend Jonathan Brown will hand over the AFL premiership cup to captains Harris Andrews and Lachie Neale if the Lions claim back-to-back flags.
Three-time premiership player Brown has been named alongside Geelong’s most recent flag-winning captain Joel Selwood as presenters for Saturday’s grand final.
Former Brisbane captain Brown, a fan-favourite turned expert commentator, easily drew parallels between the Lions’ three-peat from 2001.
“I have had a love for this club from a very young age, and it is great to still have a connection, because I am still a very proud Lion,” Brown said in a club statement.
“In some ways, I feel more pride about this group than mine, because when you are playing, you are in the moment.
“But when you are on the outside, you marvel at what this group has been able to achieve. And to play a small role is an amazing feeling.
“Our team in ’03 was a year of overcoming adversity, and I think this group has a similar quality – their ability to overcome adversity and challenges is on the same level.
“Win or lose though, I will still be so proud of this group and I am in awe of them.”

The 43-year-old kicked 594 goals across 256 games from 2000 to 2014 and captained the side between 2007 and 2013.
Now a Lion Hall of Fame Legend, Brown’s glittering AFL resume includes three club best-and-fairest awards, the 2007 Coleman Medal and two All-Australian nods.
Selwood will present the cup to Geelong skipper and great mate Patrick Dangerfield should the Cats prevail.
He takes over from Cameron Ling, who had presented the 2002 premiership cup following Geelong’s triumph over Sydney.
Lauded as one of the greatest Cats players, Selwood is a four-time premiership player, a six-time All-Australian, and a three-time club best-and-fairest.

“I’m extremely honoured to be asked to present the premiership cup,” Selwood said in a club statement.
“This club holds a special place in my heart and has been such a big part of my life.
“It’s been a joy to watch the club continue to chase greatness every year, with so many of the players I’ve played alongside continuing to challenge in pursuit of football’s ultimate prize.”
