Port Adelaide are challenging the three-match suspension handed out to Ollie Wines.

Port Adelaide veteran Ollie Wines will head to the AFL Tribunal to challenge his three-match ban for a high bump that concussed his opponent.

In other tribunal news, Geelong key forward Shannon Neale was banned for his high bump on Sydney veteran Jake Lloyd.

But in a big relief for the Cats, Neale’s ban is only one week, meaning he is available for the finals. He will miss Saturday’s round-24 game against Richmond unless the Cats go to the tribunal.

Neale, who kicked four goals in the win over the Swans, was banned after his bump was graded careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.

Sydney ace Isaac Heeney escaped any sanction after he tangled with Cats opponent Mark O’Connor.

Gold Coast midfielder Alex Davies will join Wines at the tribunal on Tuesday night in an attempt to overturn his one-match ban for rough conduct.

Wines was charged with rough conduct for his high bump on Carlton’s Cooper Lord in the second quarter of the Power’s 54-point loss at Marvel Stadium on Saturday.

Lord was later substituted out of the game with concussion.

The bump on Lord, who had just kicked the ball, was considered high contact, severe impact and careless conduct, drawing a three-week suspension.

Unless Wines completely overturns his charge, he will miss the send-offs of coach Ken Hinkley and former captain Travis Boak in Friday night’s clash with the Suns at Adelaide Oval.

If the full three-match ban is upheld, Wines will also miss the first two games of next season under incoming coach Josh Carr.

Davies was handed a one-match ban for an attempted shepherd that caught the Giants’ Ryan Angwin high during Gold Coast’s shock 35-point home loss on Saturday.

The incident was considered high contact, medium impact and careless conduct.

Davies has played the past four games for the Suns, with his best effort a 30-disposal, six-clearance, 10-tackle display against Brisbane a month ago.
