Crow recruit suspended over sling tackle on star Lion

Adelaide recruit James Peatling has received his second dangerous-tackle suspension of the season, this time for slinging Brisbane star Lachie Neale to the ground.
Peatling was reported late in the first quarter of Adelaide’s thrilling five-point win over the Lions at Adelaide Oval on Friday night.
Lions midfielder Neale had gathered possession when Peatling tackled him, pinning his arms and slinging him to the ground.
Neale’s head bounced on the ground and he grabbed it, with Peatling immediately reported.
Neale, who was able to continue playing, later told ABC radio he thought the incident was “a free kick and move on”, given he was OK.
But match review officer Michael Christian saw things differently, assessing the tackle as medium impact, high contact and careless conduct, which draws a one-game ban.
Peatling will miss Friday’s match against Hawthorn in Launceston, unless he successfully appeals the sanction at the AFL Tribunal.
It comes just over two months since the former GWS midfielder was suspended for one game for a dangerous tackle on Geelong’s Oisin Mullin.
