Fantastic four more as Apps inks huge NRLW extension

Wests Tigers captain Kezie Apps officially holds the NRLW’s longest contract after inking a four-year extension that is likely to see her through to retirement.
While others have previously inked four-year deals, Apps is the only player who holds a contract until the end of 2029, by which time she will be 38.
The extension comes after an injury-hampered 2024 for Apps, who missed the final six games of the regular season and watched as the Tigers finished last on the ladder.
The 2016 Dally M Medallist and former NSW captain will be crucial to the side recovering this season under third-year coach Brett Kimmorley.
“This club has felt like home from the moment I arrived,” Apps said.
“I’m proud to re-sign and be part of something that’s building so strongly.
“We have a great group of girls, a passionate fan base, and a vision I truly believe in.
“I’m excited for what’s ahead and honoured to keep wearing the Wests Tigers jersey.”
Apps’ new deal comes as the Tigers prepare to reconfigure after the losses of key players Botille Vette-Welsh, Navjada George and Pauline Piliae-Rasabale in the off-season.

Parramatta’s Jade Fonua, North Queensland half Jetaya Faifua and former New Zealand rugby union international Patricia Maliepo headline the new inclusions.
Apps’ re-signing comes only days out from the State of Origin opener in Brisbane, where NSW will look to bounce back from a disappointing 2-1 series loss.
Apps has relinquished the co-captaincy for a fresh era under new coach John Strange, with Isabelle Kelly taking the leadership role full-time for the second annual three-match series.
