Man charged over threat to Ipswich educational facility

Police have charged a man with multiple offences after threats were allegedly made to an educational facility in North Ipswich on Thursday.

Police allege threats were made against a staff member by a 32-year-old North Ipswich man. Police later executed a search warrant at an address in North Street, where detectives said they found weapons hidden within the house, under beds, and in cupboards.

It’s alleged they found three shortened rifles, one rifle, one pump action shotgun, one crossbow, one push knife, ammunition and fireworks.

The man has been charged with five counts each of unlawful possession of weapons, one count of authority required to possess explosives (fireworks), one count of receive tainted property, one count of posses dangerous drugs and possess utensil.

He has been denied police bail and will appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday.
