Police have charged two men with the murder of Andrew Christopher Walsh, whose body was found in concrete at a transport depot on Musgrave Road at Coopers Plains earlier this year.

Dewald De Klerk, 28, and Joshua Searston, 24, were in custody on other charges. Their murder charges were mentioned in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

Detective Inspector Damien Hansen said police set up Task Force Voltron following the discovery of Mr Walsh’s body.

“It was a combination of two separate high-risk missing persons investigations. They relate to Andrew Walsh and Lachlan Griffiths.

“The investigation established that both these missing persons were last seen or had an association with a business at 298 Musgrave Road, Coopers Plains.

“To date, we have not located Lachlan’s remains. I would appeal for any person who has knowledge of where Lachlan is to contact us through Crime Stoppers.

“It’s been one of the most complex investigations that I’ve been involved in. It’s been an enormous amount of work done by our intel, by our investigators.”

Andrew Christopher Walsh was reported missing by family in January this year, while Lachlan James Griffiths, 35, was reported missing on 26 January 2022. He was last known to be residing in different hotels in the Brisbane area.

Four people were previously charged with his murder. There have also been charges of accessory after the fact to murder and misconduct with a corpse in relation to Andrew Walsh’s death.

Police have released body worn camera footage of the arrest of two men charged in relation to the suspicious disappearance of Andrew Christopher Walsh.
