A 24-year-old woman has been arrested in Toowoomba this morning as part of ongoing investigations into the alleged murder of 25-year-old Thor Morgan at Harlaxton in March this year.
Toowoomba Criminal Investigation Branch and Homicide Unit detectives have charged her with being an accessory after the fact of murder. The woman is due to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court later this afternoon.
Mr Morgan was driving in Harlaxton early on the morning of March 15 when police said a firearm was discharged from a stolen Dual Cab.
Mr Morgan was later found with a gunshot wound to his head. He died in hospital on May 16.
On Monday, a 24-year-old man was charged with the alleged murder of Mr Morgan.
Detectives are working to identify additional occupants of the stolen vehicle when Mr Morgan was shot, and people who may have interfered with evidence following his death.
Darling Downs District Crime Group Detective Inspector Heath McQueen said more arrests are likely.
“I anticipate this will not be the last arrest that will be made in relation to this matter.
“It’s an extensive investigation conducted by the Darling Downs Crime Group and we don’t intend to stop any time soon.”
Police will allege the woman charged today is an associate of the man charged on Monday and that she knowingly assisted the people who carried out the murder after the offence.
Inspector McQueen said police believe others were involved and they should contact police to give their version of events.
“Those that may have been involved in this offence, who may have knowledge of this offence, please come forward, provide that information.
“There’s a number of people out there who have information in relation to this homicide, a number of people that really need to consider their options today.
“Now is the time to come forward because we will be making further arrests in relation to this investigation.”
