Woman charged over death of child in Rockhampton

Police have charged a woman with the murder of an eight-year-old boy at Rockhampton over the weekend.
Paramedics went to an address in Waterloo Street, Beserker, early on Saturday morning and found the boy deceased. Police said they were treating the death as suspicious.
The home was declared a crime scene as detectives investigated the death. Several hours later, a 36-year-old woman known to the boy was charged with his murder.
The woman is due to face Rockhampton Magistrates Court today.
