A man has been charged over shooting incidents on the Gold Coast last month, in which shots were fired at a moving car and a police station.
Police charged the 32-year-old man today but said he had been in custody since being arrested after a siege at Nerang in early June.
It’s alleged a family was fired upon while driving their car in Coolangatta on June 4. The man in the passenger seat received a minor injury but said doctors had told him he was lucky it hadn’t been more serious.
On June 6, shots were fired into the Arundel Police Beat, with bullets hitting the front door and a police vehicle parked nearby. No one was injured.
Police said the man remains in custody and will appear at the Southport Magistrates Court in August on charges of dangerous conduct with a weapon, assault occasioning bodily harm, and wilful damage of police property.
