Man charged with aiding suicide in far north Queensland

Police have charged a man with aiding a suicide following the death of a 74-year-old woman at Upper Barron, on the Atherton Tablelands, west of Cairns.
Emergency services found the woman unresponsive when they attended an Upper Barron Road address. Detectives are now investigating her death.
An injured 76-year-old man was also found in the house. He was taken to the Atherton Hospital and transferred to Cairns Hospital for treatment.
The man is due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on a charge of aiding in a suicide.
