Third Townsville prison escapee surrenders to police

A man who was wanted for allegedly escaping from a Townsville low security correctional facility on Monday evening has handed himself into police.

The 22-year-old man surrendered at the Townsville watch house this morning. He is expected to be charged with escaping lawful custody later today.

He is one of three men who allegedly absconded on Monday night. All three are now back in custody.

Two women have been charged with harbouring an escaped prisoner and will appear in Townsville Magistrates Court next month.
