Person injured, school locked down in NZ

A person has been injured and a school is in lockdown on New Zealand’s north island.
Police were responding to a “serious incident” in Taupiri, south of Auckland, on Tuesday morning.
One person was injured about 9.30am and a nearby school was locked down as a precaution.
Local media are reporting that an active shooter was in the Taupiri area.
A large number of police remain at the scene.
