Two charged over Glasshouse Mountains human remains

Queensland detectives have charged two men following the discovery of human remains beside a forestry track in the Sunshine Coast hinterland on Tuesday.

Forensic testing is underway to determine the identity of the skeletal remains, but police believe they are those of Donna Howe, a 57-year-old Caboolture woman, who was last seen by family in late April.

Yesterday, police executed a search warrant in the area, and later charged a 41-year-old man and a 31-year-old man, both from Caboolture, with one count each of murder and misconduct with a corpse.

Police will allege both people were known to the victim.

The two men are due to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court.
